About Me and Music

Photography is still very new to me, and I still have a lot to learn to get better.   Music is what I grew up with since I was a kid.   I did the piano lesson thing, and what became my passion was the Electric Bass.   Most of my family are all musicians, but I am the only bassist.  I remember when I was a teen and told my dad I want to to play Electric Bass.   He didn’t answer… but it wasn’t too long after, I found a grungy old guitar case in my bedroom.   My dad picked it up at a pwan shop.  I opened it up, and it was a no name brand P-Bass with dead flats strings in a traditional Fender sunburst paint scheme.   I haven’t stopped playing electric bass since….

I played that bass for a year, and my dad bought my a new Ibanez branded P-bass called a Cimar.   I modified this bass to a PJ bass with split coil switches, and it sounded it awesome.   That bass was stolen, and I bought the Fender P-bass you see me playing in the featured picture.   I was 21 when I bought my Fender P, and started working in a Top 40 cover band in the Long Beach… and Los Angeles area.

Today, I play as a cover musician… but in my church (Momentum Christian Church) in Chula Vista.

What I learned and what I would do differently?

Follow your passion and set goals.  Music was very important to me when I was growing up.  I still enjoy playing music today.   My new passion is Photography.  Like in music, I’ll practice everyday… and have my mind open to learn new things.
