Bright sunny day on the deck of the U.S.S. Midway in San Diego. San Diego is known as a military town, especially the Navy. Across the bay from the from the U.S.S. Midway is Coronado, which is a man made island. There are 2 Navy bases, North Island and Amphibious base. The Amphibious base is known for the training center for Seal Team 6 recruits.
It was really cool being up close to a variety of aircraft on the deck. The tour and the history of the ship was very interesting. It is a self guided tour where you wear headphones, and listen to the history of sections of the ship. I recommend you bring your own headphones or ear buds for the self guided tour. A must see if you visit San Diego.
As far as taking pictures on the U.S.S Midway, I took a lot of pictures. When I got home, nothing really stood out. It was like looking at vacation pictures in a city I live in. The F4 Phantom was the only picture that stood out to me, and framing looked cool. After working on it on in Lightroom and Photoshop, it looked really good, and didn’t look like the hot harsh sunny day that I took the picture in.

What I learned and what I would do differently?
On bright sunny days, I have to learn that it’s okay to increase my f-stop to a narrower aperture. Or I should carry around a wide variety of ND filters. I have a variable ND filter, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t have it that day. It wasn’t that bad of a day, it only felt like it… it was a really hot day.
