Going retro on a Lifestyle photoshoot. Pretty cool location in South Park, San Diego. The store is called “Vinyl Junkies”, where the sell old style vinyl records and cassettes. Had a blast with Connie on the shoot… Thanks Connie!!!

“Vinyl Junkies” is a pretty cool store located in a hip location.  I didn’t realize how popular vinyl records has become.  I remember going into stores like this back in the day, where store owners would let you open a record, so you can preview the music.  Today we have iTunes, Google play, Spotify, and even YouTube to preview music.  “Vinyl Junkies” runs their business like the good old days of music record stores.   They have a record player with headphones where you can preview songs on a vinyl record.  They have a DJ setup with turntables for vinyl records.   The only thing I seen that was current in this store were USB vinyl record players.  I have some old vinyls in storage at my moms home.  I might have to pick up one of these USB record players some day.

What I learned and what I would do differently?
Didn’t really learn anything new, or wouldn’t do anything differently. The store didn’t have much space, so it made the shoot pretty interesting.  What I would do differently is not photo related.  I would have enjoyed the store more, and  explore the surrounding business.  I passed by “Eclipse Chocolate” on the way to the shoot.  I haven’t been in “Eclipse Chocolate” since they moved out of El Cajon Blvd.  Their Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes are the best I’ve eaten.  I purchased a box of 3 before the shoot.  They held for me at the counter when I finished my shoot.  A perfect ending to another photo shoot day.
